ISVs & DEVELOPERS · PRACTICAL GUIDE

Add calling, messaging and customer workflows to your industry software

How software companies can connect their product to GoDesk without building the whole communications layer themselves.

Start with a customer action inside your product

A software company knows the records and processes important to its industry. The opportunity is to connect those records with calls, messages and follow-up work, while keeping the industry product at the centre.

Illustrative patterns include calling from a guest record, assigning a collection account from a lending system or creating a service task from an ERP event. These are potential integration designs, not claims of deployed customer integrations.

Use the interface that fits the workflow

APIs exchange records between systems. Webhooks notify another application when supported events occur. Embedded calling or chat widgets can add communications to the application screen.

Agree record identifiers, tenant boundaries, access permissions and which system owns each update. Start with the interfaces needed for one complete workflow.

Validate the return journey

Starting a call from a record is only part of the integration. Consider what should happen when the interaction finishes: store activity, update a status, schedule follow-up or notify another user.

Test the expected behaviour and exceptions with your technical team. API availability, event handling and delivery requirements are confirmed through developer onboarding.

Choose a product and commercial model

Explore connected capabilities, embedded communications or a white-label deployment around the product and its customers. Agree deployment, support and commercial responsibilities before launch.

A useful first conversation includes the vertical, the customer record, the proposed workflow and the first customer opportunity.
